Impact of Artificial Intelligence on the Legal Proffession

The University of Nairobi (UoN) School of Law (Kisumu Campus) will, in partnership with the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) (West Kenya Branch) and the East African Law Society (EALS), host a Continuing Professional Development Seminar on Leadership on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 from 2.00 p.m. The Seminar will be held in the Kisumu Campus Complex Auditorium and will be attended by renowned jurists, advocates, academics, students and invited members of the public.

The Seminar will begin with a Public Lecture by the Vice-President of the Uganda Law Society on the Impact of Artificial Intelligence on the Legal Profession. This will be followed by an LSK Presidential Debate involving aspirants for the presidency of the LSK. The Debate will provide an opportunity for the participants to interrogate the motivations, values and proposed programmes of the aspirants, among others, and gauge their suitability for the position.

The Seminar will earn LSK-Council of Legal Education points for advocates who attend.

During the event, the EALS will donate materials to the School of Law (Kisumu Campus) Library.

Members of the public, and students from other Schools/Faculties of the UoN and other Universities are invited.
